Weekly Update

Dear Friends,
This Sunday we get to look at the amazing promise of God as our provider, why not have a read of Matthew 6:31-34 to allow God to start speaking to you.

Sunday  Services
We look forward to welcoming you to our Sunday 9am and 10.30am services in church, as we continue in our series on ‘Promises of God to live by’. There is no need to book and all the other changes can be found HERE.
You can also join us as usual every Sunday at 10.30am on our Livestream. 
  
Job opportunity
We are looking to employ an assistant Youth Pastor to support Jess and the Youth Team.

Prayer
Our next day of Prayer and Fasting will be on Wednesday 11th August. We can pray for children and staff on their summer break from school, our children’s church activities and for Jess and all the team running these events. Also for our young people receiving A Level and GCSE results this week. Also please do share any words pictures or scriptures for us via the office. Other prayer ideas are in the church magazine. Children’s Church   
Children’s’ Sunday activities are continuing throughout the summer with the exception of our Youth.
We are looking for some volunteers to help with Children’s work on Sunday mornings to enable our regular team to have a well-deserved break. If you could help on Sunday 15th or 22nd August please do contact Jess.
 
Summer Blast!
We are very excited to be able to share that tickets are available for our children’s summer activities. Summer Blast! will run on Tuesdays 10th, 17th and 24th August. Get in quick to avoid disappointment! For tickets e-mail Jess at: [email protected]

Youth
Jess is holding various drop in’s over the summer for youth and the youth weekend away is over the August bank holiday weekend, do check your emails or contact the office for more information.

The Dust Project
Christ Church PCC is supporting The Dust Project appeal where (Charlotte Bolton works) for donations to fund emergency food parcels in Sri Lanka following a triple whammy of disasters to hit the northern communities- Sri Lanka has suffered more than many communities from the effects of Covid, has had to endure flooding on an unprecedented scale and the fishing communities have been decimated by the shipwreck containing plastic recycling that sank, polluting the seas with oil and plastic pellets.

Verger Team
We are looking to expand our Verger team for weddings and funerals.  It is a straight- forward role, for which there is a payment for your time, and those who do it will say it is a blessing to be on duty at these significant life events, supporting the families involved. Full training will be given and if you would like to know more about the role please do not hesitate to contact the office.
