APPLICATIONS FOR THIS JOB HAVE NOW CLOSED Job Description - Assistant Youth Pastor Job title: Assistant Youth Pastor Team / Department: Youth and Children Reports to: Youth and Children’s Pastor Principle location: Christ Church Ware Terms of employment: Part Time: 15 hours per week. The time split initially is as follows, subject to some negotiation and review as role progresses: Face to face contact time - 10½ hours per week Sundays (non-negotiable) 10.00 am-12 Youth session 6.00-9.30 pm Evening youth service/discipleship Wed/Thursday 7-10 pm Midweek youth gathering (non-negotiable) Mentoring one to one 2 hours Ministry support and development – 4½ hours per week Admin support for Youth and Children’s Pastor Planning and input to develop Youth ministry strategy and relationship development Mix of focus between youth and children but nuanced towards youth Key objective of role: A committed Christian with a passion for sharing the gospel with young people, and for their ongoing discipleship. Supporting the Youth and Children’s Pastor in delivering their ministry programme. To lead our youth during face to face contact times - being compassionate, kind and caring and enabling our young people to reach their full potential. Role context: Christ Church Ware (CCW) is an Anglican church in the town centre of Ware. Over the last decade it has been built into a vibrant multi-generational community with a significant focus on families and youth. Before Covid-19 CCW had a youth programme of over 40 youth attending on Wednesday/Thursday nights. Whilst the church has been able to positively impact the lives of youth in the evenings and on Sundays we need to build upon this success and support the team of volunteers to continue to meet the opportunities that our youth work gives us. This role will be spilt into two key areas- lead the face to face times at our Sunday morning and midweek gatherings and to work collaboratively with our Youth and Children’s pastor to shape the future of this ministry. This collaborative working will be in planning and delivering exciting programmes alongside sharing the administrative and regulatory elements of the ministry.
