Q. What is “Mission”?
A. There is no universal definition of Mission but the one adopted by the Missions Advisory Committee and PCC of Christ Church is: “those activities resulting from ministries exercised by Christians in the power of the Holy Spirit which facilitate evangelism, church planting, social action, teaching and discipling”. In its widest sense, this definition means that most outreach activities could be described as mission. For the Purposes of MAC (Missions Advisory Committee) it primarily refers to supported mission activities outside of Christ Church wherever that might be and are currently in locations as diverse as Hertford, Birmingham, Rwanda, London, Israel, Nepal and Germany/Worldwide (OM). Q. What is the Missions Advisory Committee (MAC)? A. A group of Christ Church members who are passionate about Mission and answerable to the PCC. We keep in touch with MPs (Mission Partners) to support, nurture, encourage and pray for them, their work and families. We also consider new applications for funding and make recommendations to the PCC for support of long or short-term mission related activity.
Q. What can members of Christ Church do to get involved?
A. Here are some suggestions:
