Dear Friends, This Sunday we continue in our Promises of God series and see how God gives us the amazing gift of eternal life from John 3:16. As an eco-church we have already earned the Silver award from A Rocha A Rocha UK – Caring for God's Earth and as it's climate Sunday this week we will also be bringing you a couple of updates on how we can be involved in the issues of climate change at this time. Please do spend some time listening to God and share any words or picture to John via the office, We can pray for children, parents and teachers as school starts up again. We can pray for all the CCW volunteers who do so much behind the scenes, and for our service leaders, preachers, readers, intercessors and musicians who bring so much to our worship. It will be held in the Church Centre Youth wing from 10-11am on 13 September, 18th October, 15th November and 20th December. We are smallish but committed group and we would love others to join us – you would be most welcome, just come along. Confirmation and Baptism We are delighted to let you know that we have been able to rearrange the service of Baptism and Confirmation (that was postponed due to the pandemic) for Sunday evening 10th October at 6.30pm at Christ Church. If you would like the opportunity to join the current candidates in being either confirmed (if you are already baptised) or to be baptised as well by immersion (if you haven’t been already), please do contact John via [email protected] for an invite to the preparatory session on Sunday the 12th of September. If you have any questions do please ask John. Children’s church Sunday morning children’s church continues this week. Summer Blast was a great success and enjoyed by all – thanks to the team for their fantastic support. Children’s groups start back up this Sunday, please see your email for details or contact the office. Youth The Youth weekend away was a really fun time of fellowship and adventure. Thanks to everyone who prayed for the team and the young people over the weekend and to those who provided cakes – which were very much appreciated, especially after a chilly afternoon on the rafts. Bike'n Hike Saturday 11th September is the annual Bike’n Hike fundraising event supporting Beds and Herts Historic Churches Trust, There were very generous with grants towards the church refurbishment project.
