Dear Friends, Welcome to the first Sunday of Advent. This Sunday morning we are continuing our insights from 1 Thessalonians the return of Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 4: 13-18, in-person and on-line. SEVEN service We are delighted to announce that this service will restart on 28th November, 7pm, in-person at Christ Church. Early Morning Prayer and Pastries 1st December 7:30 am- 8:30 am. Come and joining us in prayer for our Christmas events. We'll be praying for Christ Church, the wider church, and our own individual Christmas' however dreaded or exciting it may feel! 1 Chronicles 16:11 'Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.'  The Men’s Christmas Curry Thursday December 2nd December 2021 Our annual curry will be at the Neelakash Indian Restaurant, Amwell End, Ware- 7.45 pm. They will provide Poppadum’s/starters and a selection of mains, side dishes, rice and naan breads. COST £22 per person (gratuity included but not drinks) The important bit - please call church office 01920487267 or [email protected] to book your place by Wednesday 1st December. Why not join the Christmas Choir? Why not join the Christmas Choir for the Carol services on the 19th December. We are holding two services at 4.30 pm and 6.30 pm and would like you to sing at both services (bring a sandwich keep you going between services). Rehearsals will be on Tuesday 7th and 14th December at 7.30 pm. You do not need to be a trained singer to join the choir. Perhaps bring along a musical friend or two who would like to join in? Friday Coffee morning in Church We are pleased to announce one more coffee morning in church, 9.30 am – 11.30 am on Friday 3rd December. Free, but donations welcome. Just drop in for a cuppa and a chat, you will be most welcome. Friday 26th November - Care for the family are hosting a virtual women’s event 'Deep Rooted' with fantastic speakers 'God's heart is for us to be planted in Him and to flourish'. The women in Louise Brett's life group are meeting together to watch this, maybe this is something you'd like to watch but not you're not yet connected with a group - please do get in touch [email protected] www.careforthefamily.org.uk/events/events-online-2/deep-rooted Oasis The Oasis Christmas Party is on Saturday 27th November at 4pm. Crafts, games and dinner. Oasis is a support group for solo parents and meets in the hall at Christ Church from 4pm to 7pm on the last Sunday of every month, except December. For more information, contact [email protected] or the office on 01920 487267. Save the date - Join In Christmas Café and Craft 10am until noon on 21st December for parents and children. Relax and enjoy creating festive crafts and making a mess in our halls rather than your home! More details to follow. Christ Church School Governors We have the real privilege of a great partnership with Christ Church School that we founded. There are many ways that we continue to support the school and one is that we appoint Foundation Governors to the school. Currently there are two vacancies for governors. If you, or someone you know, are interested in serving in this way or just finding out more, please do speak to myself, Roger Tiffen of Yelena Wells if you would like more information. Christmas!
