Weekly Update

Dear Friends,
We are delighted to be welcoming back Revd Alison Jackson as our preacher this week, as we continue to explore our series in James. Why not finish reading Chapter 1 before Sunday?
 
SUNDAY SERVICES
We look forward to welcoming you to our Sunday 9am and 10.30am services in church. Book your place for all in person services and children’s and youth groups at the 10.30am service HERE.

Needed for Sunday Services
We need someone to lead prayers at the 10.30am service on 13th June and at the 9am service on 20th and 27th June – offers would be most welcome. Please contact the office. If you are new to this guidance can be given on how to draft two or three minutes of prayers;  we usually focus on topical issues in the news, our community and our church life.

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY UPDATE
Children’s church
As we get used to meeting together again and look to run all of our children’s Sunday morning activities we need to expand our pool of volunteers. Could this be you? A commitment to help even just once a month would be much appreciated. The children are great fun to be around and this is such an exciting ministry to be a part of. We are delighted to say that crèche will restart on Sunday 6th June. You do need to book a ticket for those attending which can be done via our normal service booking link.
Toddler Group
Our new Toddler group will start on Monday 7th June 9.30am to 10.30am, in the Church Centre. It is for children starting to walk – rising 1s – up until age 3. Places are limited and admission will be by appointment. Please book by phoning the office on Wednesday mornings from 9am, prior to the Monday you wish to book for. Cost will be £1.50 per family. Places will need to be booked on a weekly basis. Further information will be sent out on sign-up.
Creche update
We are delighted to say that crèche will restart on Sunday 6th June. You do need to book a ticket for those attending which can be done via our normal service booking link.
It will have a slightly different look and feel as we as we adapt to the Covid restrictions, however we know that those of you with young children will value it. 
As we continue to enjoy meeting in-person on Sundays and mid-week on we really need more helpers especially on Sunday morning.  If you are at all interested in helping please do speak to Jess. 
Summer update
Our Summer activities mornings – Summer Blast! – are in the planning stage. Sign up to help and save the date.  We will be running three activity mornings on the 10th, 17th and 24th August for 5-11 year olds and 3rd August for under 5s. If you are interested in helping at one or all of these then please do get in touch with Jess.  Further details on how to book children in will come in due course but currently we need the team to enable this to happen. I promise it will be lots of fun- don’t miss out!  Any questions get in touch.

NEW WINE

PRAYER
Prayer meetings
As it is half term there will be no Zoom prayers today,  Friday 4th June.
Day of Prayer and Fasting
Our next day of prayer and/or fasting is on Wednesday 9th June.  Please do be praying for opening up of children’s ministry, schools as they will be returning after half term, for our town and country as restrictions are eased. Please sign up for an hour of prayer via this link:

WORKING PARTY NEEDED
As church continues to look to open and restart activities we are seeking two or three volunteers who would be willing to do a deep clean in the church centre kitchens. They have not been used for over a year so everything needs to be taken out of the cupboards and washed, the cupboards need to be wiped out and also the cookers need to be cleaned.
