Dear Friends, This Sunday we the 9am Service are exploring Living the Light of Eternity – Faithful in Prayer Exodus 17:8-13 & and the 10:30am Service is Exploring Just Another Monday – Seeking Gods Blessing Proverbs 11:11 & Jeremiah 29: 4-7. This service will be on the second Friday of the month. The service is an opportunity for people to attend church during the week and to connect with God. SEVEN The next Seven Service is on Sunday 10th September – 7pm in Church. Seven Service is on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of every month at 7pm. SEVEN is a lively, spirit led service with worship, teaching and fellowship. We meet together after the service socially; it would be good to see you. 26th September 11AM – 12:30PM – Alpha Day Time Course Starts– Videos, Discussion, Tea & Cake 25th November 9:30M – 3:30PM – Need help talking about Jesus? A day that will up skill you in how to have a natural conversation about your faith in Jesus with your friends and colleagues (without sounding weird!) Support on Sound – The 9am Service are looking for some additional help with Sound/Media to support our established team of volunteers. Full Training will be given – please contact the office MADD Men Active During the Day of Christ Church. Autumn has arrived and it is September! September is the month of the next MADD meeting! Day, date, time & place - Thursday 21st September, 11.30am at Christ Church, Ware. Our guest in September - Police Constable Gary Bentley from Hertfordshire Constabulary. All men are most welcome!!! Mary Salter – Sabbatical After many years of faithfully serving and supporting Christ Church as a Lay Reader Mary Salter is having a sabbatical from upfront ministry, resuming at the beginning of January. Please do be praying for Mary in the time of refreshment and do say HI as she is still around but support her in the break. Children’s Ministry Update We have not yet appointed someone to the role of maternity cover for the assistant children’s role while Lizzie is on maternity leave. However, this appointment is still open if you are interested. Therefore, we are asking for some extra help in the following ways to help support the children’s ministry over the next few months. It is great that we have our rotas filled in advance with so many kind volunteers. However, there are occasions when someone might not be able to make it last minute. Would you be willing to be on a list that Jess can ask at short notice if the leader suddenly becomes unavailable? Would you be willing to be in a Whatsapp group for this back up cover? We are also looking for some help in preparation for crche sessions which can be done at any point in the week. There is a book to get the material from, so it requires selecting a few activities for each week, putting a plan together and ensuring the resources are available. Either weekly or prepare several weeks at a time. Join a children’s church rota. Doing once a month really does make a big difference. The groups are creche, 3-5, 5-7, 8-11s. Join In- We run Join In in Oct and Feb half term. In order to make this very popular event available to more people we are looking at running it for 2 days instead of just 1. This will obviously require more team. Are you able to commit to being on the team? Are you able to commit to being responsible for some of the planning and running of the event? Please note if you do not have a current DBS with us you will need to get a DBS and complete safeguarding training. Both are very straightforward to do and the office will help you through the process. Jess Cole and John Hookway Prayer Space In the prayer area at the back of church there are cards for you to leave a; Testimony, Things to Pray for, as well as words for us as a Church. The Staff team will then take time to pray during for them during the week. Please place completed cards in the offertory box or give to a member of the clergy.
