HARVEST THANKSGIVING SERVICE
Sunday – 1st October 2023

Dear Friends,

This Week

Harvest Service 1st October THIS WEEK
We will be celebrating Harvest at the morning services on Sunday 1st October
We will be supporting the work of the Hertford & District food bank Harvest Festival | Hertford & District Foodbank
If you would like to contribute, the items they require are;  Tinned Tomatoes, Baked Beans, Tinned Soup, Instant Mash, UHT Milk, Fruit Juice, Pasta, Tinned Rice Pudding, Tinned Custard , Biscuits  Please bring items along to the services where they will be re-distributed to the Foodbank.

Oasis (for those parenting alone or when separated), please feel free to just turn up with or without children Saturday 30th September 4 till 7 pm church centre - sports, craft, jacket potatoes and fillings, cake and puddings.  See you there!
 

Service of the Word – 6th October 12:15pm in Church (after the Friday Coffee Morning 10-12).  This service is on the second Friday of the month.  The service is an opportunity for people to attend church during the week and to connect with God.

SEVEN The next Seven Service Sunday 8th October – 7pm in Church – What’s God Like. Seven Service is on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of every month at 7pm.  SEVEN is a lively, spirit led service with worship, teaching and fellowship.  We meet together after the service socially; it would be good to see you.
 

Ministry Leaders Thursday 12th October, 7.30-9.30pm Leaders evening for teaching with; cheese, wine and soft drinks. Come along if you oversee any group that runs at Christ Church from the alpha course or finance committee, to the missions team or Wednesday Welcome. All children’s and youth volunteers are included as you lead our children and young people. If you’re unsure whether this applies to you feel free to email us or ask one of the staff team,

JOIN IN! Monday 23rd (10-12/2-4) and Tuesday 24th (10-12/ 1-2.30 SEN) October Event for parents/carers and children to come to together with bouncy castle, soft play, games, crafts, Bible story and café.
Help- Due to the number of people who want to come,  we are now running this over 2 days! Double the days, double the team! Welcome, monitor inflatables, serve refreshments, chat and pray with adults, craft, bake a cake.

​Operation Christmas Child 2023
This is a simple way to make a real difference to the life of a child at Christmas.  Can you find the time to fill a shoe box with a few inexpensive gifts?

Christ Church @ New Wine 2024 – 25-30 July 2024 New Wine 24 - New Wine (new-wine.org)  If you are thinking of coming we encourage you to book as soon as possible as ticket are selling fast
For those of you who might think Camping is not for you … (I don’t have the equipment for this) – Christ Church has a Group Camp area.  All you need to do is bring along a tent, sleeping bag and your own personal luxuries.  We will have a central /shared area for socialising and cooking together  
 
 
Prayer Space In the prayer area at the back of church there are cards for you to leave a; Testimony, Things to Pray for, as well as words for us as a Church.  The Staff team will then take time to pray during for them during the week.  Please place completed cards in the offertory box or give to a member of the clergy.
