Join In Christmas Café and Craft From 10am to noon on Tuesday 21st December for parents and children. Relax and enjoy creating festive crafts and making a mess in our halls rather than your home! Look out for more information coming soon. Save the date - Saturday 26th February 2022 Our church away day (at home this time!!) returns, with times of worship, encounter, teaching, fun and laughter. There will also be a Children’s and youth programme for the day. Our guest speaker is the Reverend Nicola Moy. She is the vicar of Christ Church W4 in Chiswick, a ministry partner of CPAS, a speaker at Lee Abbey and was on the leadership team of New Wine. She loves travel and has ministered in India, Africa and Asia, but not yet South America! She is married to Richard, the new National Director of SOMA UK, and they have three school aged children and a dog!! Prior to ordination she was an RE teacher. Further details in the New Year. Prayer and Fasting Our next day of prayer and fasting will be on Wednesday 8th December. Why not create some space to rest with God and to pray for all the opportunities to share God’s good news this Christmas. If you wish to sign up for an hour please follow this link: https://pray.24-7prayer.com/signup/7363b3 Youth Mentoring There will be a meeting about our mentoring programme on Thursday 20th January at 8pm in the church centre for those who are interested in being a mentor for one of our young people. Our programme connects a young person with an adult to be a safe, intentional relationship where a young person can be heard, understood and prayed for. It provides a safe opportunity to get to know each other, encourage them in their faith and just with anything else that life throws up. If you have any questions about our mentoring programme please speak to Jess or one of the youth team or come along to the meeting to hear more and see if it is something you could get involved in. [email protected] Operation Christmas Child – Thank you Thank you so much to all who gave or helped with Operation Christmas Child, including online shoeboxes. The Christ Church collection centre welcomed donors with 175 shoebox gifts as well as numerous hats and other gifts. We were also involved in collecting over 5,000 boxes from the local area and delivering them to the processing centre in St Neots. It was great to see box numbers up by 75% in our area compared to last year which was badly impacted by the Covid restrictions. We are hoping that the first lorries will be leaving St Neots on 11th December. The potential destination list this year is Liberia, Nigeria, Middle East, Central Asia, Belarus, Serbia, Albania, Moldova and possibly Bosnia. Many thanks for your continued support.
