Dear Friends, This Sunday we continue our series looking at: Disciples; Who Make Disciples: Our Place in God's Story 1 Peter 1:10-12 Join us at 9 am or 10.30 am in church. This service will be on the second Friday of the month. The service is an opportunity for people to attend church during the week and to connect with God. SEVEN The Seven Service is this Sunday 12th May 7pm in Church. Seven Service is on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of every month at 7pm. This term we are looking at Old Testament Prophecies starting with Hosea APCM - 15th May 7:45pm in Church beginning with a time of worship. It is an opportunity to be updated about the church and its future vision. It is also where we elect Trustee/PCC Members and Deanery Synod for which we have vacancies. If you are interested in serving in this way please talk to the Clergy, Wardens or existing PCC Members. Further details are available from the Church Office. It is an exciting opportunity to serve Christ Church in its governance and future mission and ministry. Please be praying for the APCM and all who serve in Christ Church and those considering standing. The Vacancies for PCC this term are: 1 Deanery Synod, 1 x 2 year and 3 x 3 year PCC Trustees. This is for all those affected by any eating disorders and those who support them. The Bereavement Journey Seven free sessions of films and discussion for anyone bereaved anytime, whether grieving a death now, or wanting to explore a previous bereavement that may be unresolved. This course is for bereaved adults to do their own grief work. Join us in church Thursday 23rd May for seven weeks 10am – 12noon in Church. Please contact the Rachel Quinlan for a registration form: [email protected] Men Active During the Day (MADD) - May meeting - Tenth anniversary Thursday 16th May 2024, 11.30am in Christ Church, Ware. The May meeting will mark ten years since MADD started. GUEST - To mark the occasion we turned to someone who fully represents our church; our own Mr John Stockwell!! LUNCH - We plan to have an informal lunch of pizzas in church, with wine and soft drinks to celebrate ten years!! For catering purposes, please let Bob Barker or Peter Dane know if you are coming together with any dietary requirements. All men are welcome! Come along to mark the tenth anniversary. At Christ Church we have an amazing team of people who volunteer to help us to keep the church and the general weekly activities running for the members and community - With out them, activities just would not happen. There will be further communication in the next few weeks – Please watch this space Eco Tip: As part of your drive to reduce your plastics use, are you using bulk-buying of fluids supplied in plastic bottles – laundry wash, rinse-aid, washing-up fluids, hand-soap, shower-gel, cooking oils, etc., allowing you to reuse your smaller home containers. While you are at it you might consider switching to shampoo bars rather than plastic bottles. We have a very convenient bulk-buy shop in central Ware and a similar shop in Hertford. (Ask locals if you do not know of them.) Prayer Space In the prayer area at the back of church there are cards for you to leave a; Testimony, Things to Pray for, as well as words for us as a Church. The Staff team will then take time to pray during for them during the week. Please place completed cards in the offertory box or give to a member of the clergy.
