Notices - 10th November 2019

10/11/2019

We have TWO Sundays left in our temporary church before returning to the newly refurbished building.  The first services back in church will be on Sunday 24th November 2019. Patience and safety. I know that you are all itching to have a look inside the church building, however could I ask you to be patient a little longer. Please do not try to sneak a peak as it is still a building site and there are lots of hazards about, both inside and out.

Church prayer meeting on Monday 11th November 8-9pm. John 11:25 ‘I am the resurrection and the life.’ Theme will be remembrance, prayer stations will include poppies and the wars, the last supper and Easter; also Samaritans Purse and Pastoral Care.

Christmas Choir:  Rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings from 7.45 in the Church Centre.  Do come along and have a go!  Enthusiasm is more important that musical ability.

On Saturday 16th November from 8.30 – 12.00 there will be a working party to move equipment and furnishings into church in preparation for our re-opening along with some small diy jobs within the church building.   If you are able to help please let Martin know, or just turn up.   There will be refreshments, but no bacon rolls on this occasion.

MADD members of Christ Church, Ware,  Diaries at the ready ........ November meeting - change of date and venue!  The last MADD meeting of 2019 meeting will be in Christ Church on Thursday 28th November at 11.30am (new date, one week later than planned).
Before the meeting we will meet at 11am to pray for our newly refurbished church!   Yes we meet in Christ Church 28th November 2019 at 11.30am, 11am to pray.

Operation Christmas Child – Deadline Sunday 10th November     This is a simple way to make a real difference to the life of a child at Christmas. Can you find the time to fill a shoe box with a few inexpensive gifts?  Last year our boxes went to children in Iraq, Belarus and Romania.  Leaflets with instructions are available on the welcome desk at the 9.15 and 11.00 services, and filled boxes should be returned to church at the morning services on Sunday 10th November, or to the office during the following week.  Please do not pack any food items in your box: this also means no sweets or toothpaste.   A donation of £5 is suggested please to cover the costs of transporting the boxes abroad.  If anyone wants to visit or volunteer at the processing centre at Harlow, it is open Monday to Saturday from 10:00 to 16:00 from 11th November to 6th December, also Wednesday evenings for Life Groups: 20th Nov and 27th Nov. Please contact Andrew du Boulay (aduboulay@ntlworld.com) for more details.  Thank you for your support.

Toddlers are desperate for helpers  on Friday mornings from 9.00 am to 11.30 am.  Help is needed in setting up and getting alongside the mums/carers.  Why not come along and try a session to see if this could be for you?  You will not need to commit to every week, just to a regular slot.   Contact the office for more information or just turn up on a Friday morning.

Thank you to everyone who has bought a copy of my booklet “Children”.  The money from the sales is sufficient to buy two chairs.  Pam Robinson.

If you do not receive notices by e-mail, please make sure you pick up details about the Forgiveness Project happening in 2020.

PRAY PRAY PRAY!!!  Tuesday prayers at 12.30 pm weekly, Third Monday of the month at 10 am in the Youth Wing: Second Monday evenings 8 – 9 pm all in the Church Centre.

Chair Update!  Thank you, 143 chairs donated, 87 more needed. Donations/ enquiries to the office.
