What's your favourite worship song? Join John to explore the songs we sing and why we sing them. This week, there's a chance to listen to 'Good Good Father' by Pat Barret and Anthony Brown and to think of all the times in the Bible that God shows himself to be that Good Father, like in Matthew 7:11 "..if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him." But maybe this song will help you to do more than just listen and remember stories; maybe you will encounter God's love for you as the reality that it is. What's your experience of God as a Good Father? What's your favourite worship song? Join John to explore the songs we sing and why we sing them. This week, he thinks about how listening and worshipping to "See a Victory" by Steven Furtick, Ben Fielding, Jason Ingram and Chris Brown can be a powerful weapon in the battles we face. This song reminds us that the battle belongs to the Lord - "He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ." 1 Cor 57. So continue to trust in God as He fights for us. Remember that our battle is spiritual - "we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places". Eph 6:12 What's your favourite worship song? Join John to explore the songs we sing and why we sing them. This week, he thinks about how listening to 'No Longer Slaves' by Jonathan David Helser, Brian Johnson and Joel Case can help us deal with fear and remind us of 1 John 4:18 "There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love." |
