Invitation to Join a Life Group We really encourage everyone at Christ Church to be involved in a life group. Life groups meet nearly every week to chat, read the bible, and pray together. A lot of groups host socials and serve food for hospitality too. Most life groups meet on a Wednesday evening, with a couple of Tuesday evening and daytime options available. You don't have to be available every week but coming as regularly as possible is helpful. This term we will be looking at a few psalms in our bible studies- considering how we can worship the God of all in All of Life. Worship reorientates us and helps us have hope. Meanwhile our sermon series is looking at the reasons we hope, through the book of Isaiah. We are also having an evening where all life groups will be praying for the world at the same time. We have a new life group starting and there have been some changes within our existing groups, so this is a great time for you to decide to come and try out a life group. Depending on where you are at in your faith journey, and what you are going through in life- they provide both an opportunity to support and teach others, as well as a space that offering a space that you can be supported and learn from others. Save the dates! 13th September Church Beach Trip to Walton-on-the-Naze Further details to follow 27th & 28th October Join In – further details to follow Christmas Explored- 24th-28th November (set up on 23rd) A couple years ago Christ Church ran an event called Easter Explored. This year we are doing Christmas Explored! This is an experience that brings the Christmas story to life in a fresh way that captures the imagination. The church will be transformed into an immersive, multi-sensory experience. Children from local schools come and are transported back 2000 years as they journey through scenes from the Christmas story and find out more about the characters involved in the amazing events of the first Christmas. How can you be involved? Over the next couple months look out for random prop requests! Consider saving the dates and getting involved as an actor, odd jobs help, helping set up and take down and praying! Eco Church Wash Your Clothes Less: Synthetic material sheds microplastics in the washing machine. The ocean floor now holds over 14 million tonnes of microplastics and a high proportion comes from clothes washing. These microplastics are toxic to sea life and work their way up the food chain, eventually to mammals, including humans. Over washing your clothes will also affect their quality over time, as well as using lots of water and energy. Avoid synthetics, wash them less and use an Eco-friendly detergent. Prayer Space In the prayer area at the back of church there are cards for you to leave a; Testimony, Things to Pray for, as well as words for us as a Church. The Staff team will then take time to pray during for them during the week. Please place completed cards in the offertory box or give to a member of the clergy. For 24/7 urgent (and confidential) prayer requests please send an email to [email protected]. Giving at Christ Church All our ministries are generously supported by members of this church community. If you would like to join them in giving please contact the Treasurer by email: [email protected] or Click Here for further details Comments are closed.
