Harvest – we are celebrating Harvest on 6th October at both morning services.  We will be supporting the work of the Hertford food bank Donate food | Hertford & District Foodbank If you would like to contribute, the items they require are:   Packet Rice, Tinned Fruit, Tinned Vegetables, Jam/Marmalade/Honey, Toiletries, Long Life Milk (UHT)


SEVEN The next Seven Service is on 13th October 7pm in Church. This term we are looking at Spiritual Gifts.  Seven Service is on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of every month at 7pm.


Interested in exploring the Christian Faith? Why not Join Alpha Alpha is a series that explores the basics of the Christian faith in a welcoming, open and friendly environment.  It's free and there's no pressure or follow up.   Everyone's welcome.  Please use links to sign up or contact the office.

Home and Away (day) Closer Each Day...
Friday 4th (Evening) & Saturday, 5th October - Church day with children and youth activities, social time, teaching and worship together, shared lunch and also for the Friday evening where we will be having a time of worship, prayer and social together as well.

Service of Memories – Sunday 20th October @ 4pm – A time of reflection following loss or bereavement.  Please feel free to come along and invite anyone who might benefit from this service.


JOIN IN!  Monday 28th October and Tuesday 29th October. Event for parents/carers and children to come to together with bouncy castle, soft play, games, crafts, Bible story and café.
Lots of team needed please to enable us to run all of these sessions!  Can you help with any of these areas  Welcome, monitor inflatables, serve refreshments, chat and pray with adults, craft, bake a cake.   Please contact Jess [email protected]

Baptism and Confirmation – On Sunday 3rd November at 6pm we are having a confirmation service with the option to also be baptised. If you would like to make this public declaration or if you are just wanting to explore this further then please speak to John or Jess. 


Rekindling - Thursday 7th November 7:30 pm Church Centre  - Hosted by Dave Brett
A space for dads of those with additional needs (male carers also welcome). Peer support group with opportunities to chat with each other around a firepit. Bring your own soft drinks and nibbles to share.  Any queries please email [email protected]

Would you like to be in the Children's Christmas Eve Service this year? We are looking for actors/actresses of all ages to come and help us share the Christmas story in a fun and creative way.  Please speak to Jess if you are interested or would like to know more  [email protected]


Operation Christmas Child 2024 If you would like to fill a shoebox this year, please pick up a leaflet from the back of church for full instructions.  You can also donate items such as knitted hats, A5 sized notebooks, soaps, and small toys (must be new) etc.  Please take your shoebox gifts or fillers to the church centre, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00,  but only during National Collections Week (11th to 18th November). 


Save the Date!  Reset New Wine Women's Day- Saturday 1st February 2025, Woodford Wells. Booking will be opening soon. (tickets were £25 last year, tbc for this year)
All ages of women from Christ Church will be attending this day of worship, prayer, and teaching.  Please email [email protected] so she knows who is going and can help co-ordinate lifts.  There are some funded tickets available if that enables you to join us.  More details coming soon.

Autumn is upon us and you will soon get out your winter wardrobe.  Before you put your summer gear away maybe see what you haven't worn, consider offering it to a Pre-loved Item shop.  While you're there, have a look to see if anything draws your attention to buy and be tempted.
In so doing, you will have:
reduced landfill, the amount of clothing in circulation, the fuel and water waste in manufacturing processes and contributed to the charity itself, contributed to water conservation, contributed to a good cause  (see https://www.oxfam.org.uk/oxfam-in-action/oxfam-blog/the-benefits-of-buying-second-hand/  )

Prayer Space In the prayer area at the back of church there are cards for you to leave a; Testimony, Things to Pray for, as well as words for us as a Church.  The Staff team will then take time to pray during for them during the week.  Please place completed cards in the offertory box or give to a member of the clergy.  For 24/7 urgent (and confidential) prayer requests please send an email to [email protected].
