Christ Church picnic day - The picnic will be on 29 June 2008 at Presdales School, Hoe Lane. This is a 2008 event. For those who have not been before, there is a large field, swimming pool and tennis courts. The venue will be open from 1:00pm - please bring your picnic lunch including all drinks you want for the whole afternoon. (There will not be a refreshment tent so please bring all your own). Please also bring your own chairs or rugs to sit on. There is plenty of room for family games including ball games - please bring your own equipment. It will also be a good time for K Groups and families to enjoy and share a relaxing afternoon together.
Flower watering - If you would like to get involved in some way to help the church then this may be for you! The beautiful flower arrangements that you see on Sundays need watering twice during the week. If you would be willing to take on this task please contact the church office.
Are you good on the internet - and could you spare some time to undertake a research project for the church into grant funding? If this could possibly be you then please contact Martin Dudley or see David Proud.
Civic Service - for the new mayor, Phyllis Ballam at Christ Church Sunday July 6th 3:00pm. Michael Smith is leading the music for this service and it would be great if some singers could help lead the singing together with singers from St Mary's and Leaside. He plans to rehearse on the day at 1:45pm. More details from Kate Winfield.
Holiday Club 20080 - (28th July - 2nd August) now has a name, GAME ON!, and we have lots of opportunities for people who want to be part of this year's holiday club. We are looking for people who would like to welcome children and parents, build relationships with them and help them get to know Jesus. If you would like to volunteer please pick up a sheet at the back on Church, there are some suggested roles on it, then fill it in and post it in the box. You can also volunteer to help even if you can't be there in the week as there are things that can be done before Game On! starts. If you would like more info, please speak to Dot, Jonny, Erin or Louise. The deadline for the Summer Issue is 25th June. Get your articles in ASAP!

St Leonard's summer lectures - "A Good Work Well Done" is a Series of Talks exploring the lives, faith and influence of four strong twentieth century Christian women who have made a significant contribution to the world. Dorothy L. Sayers, Dame Cecily Saunders, Dame Henrietta Barnett and Mary Sumner. At 6:30pm every Sunday from June 15th to July 6th at St. Leonard’s church, Bengeo. More info at the back of church.
The Bowens in Burundi - We (Roger and Miranda) are leading a team to Matana in Burundi for 2 weeks at the end of July. This is an opportunity for us to take encouragement in the form of our presence, but also encouragement in the shape of financial gifts to those who are most in need of it. The group I am most concerned about are the orphans who are in families that are headed by their older siblings because all the adults have died. Many of these need financial support with schooling, health costs, school materials and housing. I realise that you may have many other pulls on the strings of your heart and your pocket, but if you were able to send us a small sum to take with us, it all adds up and would be ENORMOUSLY appreciated. The easiest way for me to manage your gifts would be a cheque made payable to Miranda Bowen, sent to us at our home address: The Outlook, Port Eynon, Swansea, SA3 1NL.
Songs of Praise July 13th 6:30pm - There are 4 more rehearsals: Thursdays June 19th and 26th and Mondays June 30th and July 7th at 7:15pm prompt in church. More details for choir members in pigeon holes. Kate Winfield.
