Forty five married couples took part in the Renewal of Vows service at Christ Church on Saturday representing 1,250 years of marriage! Couples travelled from as far as Shrewsbury and Lowestoft to take part in the service.Mr & Mrs Woodhouse, married at Christ Church 52 years ago, cut the wedding cake and were presented with a meal at Hanbury Manor. Mr & Mrs Gibson, married in Bengeo 57 years ago, received a Tesco voucher and Mr & Mrs Elliot, married at Fanhams Hall three months ago, were give a Van Hage’s voucher.
The weather cleared in time for the reception held in the Vicarage garden where the wedding cake – made by Dot Day - was distributed among the 150 guests. "Anything Goes" led by Chris Woodrow accompanied proceedings with an "across the decades" selection of string arrangements.
Christ Church would like to thank all those who joined in the celebration and made the afternoon a very special event.
